THE occupation of the Palestinian territories continues without regard for human life, without regard for the extreme hardships and burdens on every Palestinian man, woman and child. While Israel and supportive Jews decry the Palestinian resistance to their illegal occupation and demand that all Palestinians are vile and reprehensible for attacks on Israeli civilians, the intentional, calculated and targeted attacks against all Palestinian civilians continues and is escalating to horrific levels by the IDF, under explicit orders and directives from the government and the leaders of Israel. ISRAEL is a democracy. Israel never targets civilians. Israel never targets children, women, the elderly, or the infirmed. Israel never attacks, only responds. Israel is a concerned member in good standing within the greater international community of nations. Israel acts with decency and regard for all international laws, pacts and covenants. ISRAEL is in the process of intentionally and systematically creating conditions within the West Bank and Gaza Strip to strangle the last vestiges of hope out of every last Palestinian in the disguised cloak of security; creating deplorable and horrific conditions beyond imagination, to make life so unbearable that every last Palestinian will either emigrate from the territories, or succumb to the tyranny and brutality aimed at the heart, spirit and soul of the defenseless and hapless Palestinian people. It is the calculated and determined transfer of every non-jew from all areas west of the Jordan river, by whatever means to achieve the desired objective, including death by any and all means. THEY are doing it with impunity and mockery of all decency, morality, humanity and international law and in full view of the rest of the entire world, while the world does nothing in response, aided and abetted by the President of the United States. WHILE the world turns its collective back and sleeps, more Palestinian children and families will cease to exist on this planet. The scourge will not only fall upon Israel and the Jews, but on all of humankind equally. We will all be judged by future generations and history and we will be judged harshly and mocked derisively and we will have deserved it. THE following appeal was sent to us by the Governor of Bethlehem and we pass the message upon the rest of the international community. What will become of it? Will it in turn be ignored and cast ignominiously aside with all the other pleas and appeals from the Palestinian version of the Middle East conflict? The shame is upon Israel, the United States, Europe and all of Arabia -- all of us equally! Patrick Johnston |
